Communications Officer - 911 Dispatcher/Call Receiver

Salary :  Starting $15.77/hr ($2,733.47/mo, $32,801.60/yr)  2013  salary figures + generous benefits)

 We’re looking for people with a certain skill set - with, or without experience.    Do you have a sincere interest in helping people connect with services they need in an emergency?  Can you remain calm and make quick, sound judgments under pressure?  Do you have the ability to multi-task, (talking clearly and intently listening on the phone while monitoring radio frequencies and typing information to relay to emergency personnel)?    Are you able to enter data at a minimum speed of 6,250 KPH and type at least 35 wpm?  Can you work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays? 

If you honestly answered yes to these questions, this might be the career for you and it’s one of the few careers that does NOT require a college degree; on-the-job, employer-paid training is provided.  Starting salary is $15.77 per hour with generous benefits including medical & dental insurance, paid vacation, sick leave and holidays the first year.  Interested? The examination will consist of data-entry AND typing tests administered by Colville WorkSource, realistic job preview (pre-test), completed application, written exam, and interview.  A data-entry & typing Proficiency Certificate from WorkSource and completed application must be received at the Stevens County Civil Service office no later than 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 22, 2015.  The written examination is scheduled for Tuesday, April 28, 2015 and interviews will be scheduled April 30th and May 7th if necessary.
