Geographical Information System (GIS) Specialist II

This position is primarily responsible for the maintenance of the Stevens County’s Geographic Information System (GIS) and Master Street Addressing Guide (MSAG). This includes updating existing spatial data sets, such as, streets, right-of-way, cadastral information, voting precincts, jurisdictional boundaries, various districts, address points, and other spatial data. Additionally, this position shall aid in the creation of new spatial data and map products using ArcGIS software. This position requires good interpersonal skills as many of the projects require close coordination and teamwork. Additional responsibilities include: data formatting, research and error investigation, system troubleshooting, record keeping, reading and writing legal descriptions from deeds and plat (meets and bounds description), quality assurance checks, and general efficiency enhancements.
